Another BDC driver is born!

Last weekend, The British Drift Championship held a licensing day at Llandow, we had 3 drivers fighting for the all important licenses, Gareth Power in his BMW E36 M3, James Woodman in his Nissan 200SX S13 and Ian Williams also in a Nissan 200SX S13.

The build up to the event was the usual routine of get your car ready, Gareth and James (Goose and Woody) were all set with just loading up tyres and so on, Ian however had a fair bit more to do and the night before the event he was facing a turbo change with one slight problem...the required parts were nowhere to be seen!

After phoning around looking for a banjo bolt, the only person to have one spare was Bryn who just so happens to live the furthest from any of us, so at 2am Ian found himself traveling to the far end of the M4 and beyond to pick it up, god only knows what hour Ian got back.

Then Saturday arrived, licensing day...Ian was nowhere to be seen at the start but finally made it with about half an hour of practice left only the turbo was still not on, Browny (Daniel Brown) got to work and rushed against the clock, the turbo was on and car running on .3 of a bar on a T25, Ian rushed out and was due to put in his 4 laps without practice.

That was it, we await the results, many names were called of those who got licenses and so far no NightWalkers, thinking that was the end....the very last name of the Pro Am's...Ian Williams, after all the bad luck, and especially the very wet Llandow circuit, we finally have foot in the BDC, a huge congratulations and one to watch next season!!
