BDC Round 1 Semi Pro - The Jamie Kenyon story

Here is a brief run down of how round 1 went for me. The location was Stowe circuit at Silverstone. Here is a brief description of the track:

A nice long run up to the first left hander (Bryn saw 70mph on my speedo at one point before initiation). The turn was a little deceptive as it looked tight but opened up nicely linking into a fairly long straight (I would give you the length in approximate yeards but I haven't a clue). This was to be transitioned to set the car up for a slower 2nd gear right hander which fed immediatley into a tighter left hander before a brief run to the finish marker. The first turn had a clip towards the beginning of the apex and iirc the second and third clips where the rumble strips of the next right-left combo.

Another BDC driver is born!

Last weekend, The British Drift Championship held a licensing day at Llandow, we had 3 drivers fighting for the all important licenses, Gareth Power in his BMW E36 M3, James Woodman in his Nissan 200SX S13 and Ian Williams also in a Nissan 200SX S13.

The build up to the event was the usual routine of get your car ready, Gareth and James (Goose and Woody) were all set with just loading up tyres and so on, Ian however had a fair bit more to do and the night before the event he was facing a turbo change with one slight problem...the required parts were nowhere to be seen!

My new hero

Having been into drifting for quite some time you think you've seen everything and then something comes along and makes your hairs stand on end.

This short video clip did it for me, D1 driver Masato Kawabata pulling off a crazy backwards entry and managing to nail the clipping point. Needless to say this has inspired me and I will be trying to achieve something similar during the off season.

Enjoy

Longlife open day

When Nightwalkers were asked by one of our sponsors Longlife Stainless Steel Exhausts to take some of the cars to an open day, we were more then happy to help out. Longlife have helped work on most of the Nightwalker cars as well as employing one of the members. A great day was had by all. Everyone in attendance were glad to help and support in any way we could.

NightWalkers go Bollywood!

Never thought I would ever be making a post like this to be honest, but then I never thought our Pro Am driver Jamie Kenyon could grow facial hair either but he has lol.

The title is true, NightWalkers have in fact gone Bollywood, one of our team cars belonging to Daniel O'Brien has been used in a music video for a group called 'Nachle' the video was made by X1X Film, instead of reading I'll just show you...

Whichever way you look at it, it's great publicity for NightWalkers and especially great for Danny, I'm not sure the track will be in my playlist anytime soon though!
